Gerberas - History
Gerberas were so named in honour of a German naturalist, Traugott Gerber.
They are native to South African & Asian regions. Gerberas mostly inhabit temparate & mountain regions.
They have gained importance as commercial flowers due to their attractive range of colours & durability. Gerbera is also known as Transvaal Daisy, Barberton Daisy or African Daisy.
